Nkasa Rupara National Park is Namibia’s largest wetland area, located in the Zambezi region, formerly known as Mamili National Park. It is characterized by a complex network of channels, islands, and floodplains, similar to the Okavango Delta, and is a haven for a variety of wildlife including large herds of elephants and buffalo. The park is most accessible during the dry season (May to November) due to significant flooding in the rainy season, which can make many roads impassable and requires a capable 4×4 vehicle for entry.
