Desert Plains Camp

Set in a secluded part of the reserve the choice is yours as too how much or how little you would like to do.

Plains Camp is your special home. It demands nothing much of you, but to relax and gaze at the ever-changing colours of the desert.

This totally unique and beautiful structure is built from timber and canvas creating a home that blends effortlessly into the surrounding desert plains with a seamless flow between indoor and outdoor spaces. 

The canvas ‘walls’ can be opened up completely to allow the desert in or vice-versa should you want to feel a little more contained on those chilly winter nights. The Villa makes full use of the endless space and 2 bedrooms (4 in total) stretch out on each side of the main areas and pool interlinked by decking and seating areas providing space to relax and contemplate.

NamibRand Nature Reserve is a vast, private conservation area on the edge of the Namib Desert in southern Namibia. Known for its sweeping dunes, open plains, and dramatic mountain backdrops, it protects one of Africa’s most pristine desert ecosystems. 

Wildlife such as oryx, springbok, zebra, and leopard roam freely across the reserve. NamibRand is also a renowned dark-sky destination, offering exceptional stargazing, scenic drives, guided walks, and a truly remote, low-impact desert safari experience.
